Since AirAsia X first launched direct daily flights to Seoul in Aug 2010, we'd manage to get cheap flight tickets to Korea, about RM565 per person (return tickets included tax). Once we touched down Seoul's Incheon International Airport, it was already 9:15pm and we wanted to take the earliest flight to Jeju island the next morning, so we decided to overnight at Incheon International Airport that night! We play in the airport at midnite, I ride the trolley and he pushed me through the runway and nobody care...wahaha~

How to get to Jeju-do
From Incheon International Airport, 1F of the passenger terminal → B1F of the passenger terminal → Transportation Center → Incheon International Airport Station, take Airport Railroad Express (AREX) → Gimpo International Airport → Jeju-do

At Gimpo International Airport, dozens of flights depart for Jeju City daily. The 1-hour flight costs between ₩167,000 - ₩244,000 (RM462-RM675) on major Korean carriers, and around ₩108,000(RM299) on budget carriers, like Jeju Air.

Jeju Island lies about 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of Korea's southern coast. Sometimes referred to assamda -- a reference to three of the things most abundantly found there:- rocks, wind, and women.

After reached Jeju Airport, we take airport limousine bus from Jeju Airport → Seogwipo KAL Hotel and we get down from the bus at Gyeongnam Hotel. We checked-in Daekuk Isleinn Hotel which located near to Seogwipo Harbor, and within a close proximity to the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall.

As we walked from the hotel towards Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, there is a park with a lot of Dol hareubangs. Dol hareubangs are large mushroom-like statues found on Jeju Island. They are considered to be gods offering both protection and fertility and were placed outside of gates for protection against demons traveling between realities.

There are so many hallabong trees along every road seemingly in Jeju. Hallabong is a seedless and very sweet citrus fruit, named after Hallasan the mountain located in Jeju-do, where it is primarily grown. Thе bulge on top οf thе fruit is suggestive οf thе shape οf Mount Halla, whісh was once an active volcano.

Our 1st meal in Jeju is dolsot bibimbap ("dolsot" meaning "stone pot"), is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste) in a very hot stone bowl. A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating is served. The bowl is so hot that anything that touches it sizzles for minutes. Before the rice is placed in the bowl, the bottom of the bowl is coated with sesame oil, making the layer of the rice touching the bowl golden brown and crispy.

There are a lot seafood restaurants around Jeju, aquariums with variety of fish were displayed outside the restaurants. Nothing special until this creature caught our attention → Urechis unicinctus (개불 (gaebul)) is a species of marine spoon worm. This spoon worm is commonly eaten raw in China, Japan and especially Korea.
