Sapa is an incredibly picturesque village that lies on the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border in Northwest Vietnam. You can see many hill tribe people, their villages, rice terraces, lush vegetation, and Fansipan, highest peak in Vietnam. Sapa came into existence as a hill station during the French occupation. Previously a Black H’mong village, it was ‘discovered’ early in the twentieth century.

Overnight train travel (8 hrs) from Hanoi to Lao Cai

It was a horrible experience especially after u had watched Ghost Train (Korean) movie. I could hardly fall asleep in the train bcoz I kept thinking of that horror movie all the journey. Even I go to the washroom my mind also kept reminding myself of the scene in that movie too... aiks!

After long hours tortured, finally we have reached the heaven, Sapa! phew~ It is so beautiful... It is worth for travel so long just to enjoy the spectacular landscapes & get to meet the ethnic groups in Sapa.

Cat Cat village sits atop unspoiled landscapes. We choose to have a leisurely walk within the old village to admire the traditional customs and practices of the ethnic H'mong people that live here. Further into the village are waterfalls along with a stream that weaves its way around boulders, hills and mountains. The stream is spanned by a suspension bridge, which offers a good view of the waterfalls and mountains.

While I was walking around the village, there were a few Black H'mong ladies approached me... They accompanied me walking through their village and do some chit chat, they show me how they make fabric and bag, and of coz at the end they push me to buy their handmade products.
