The next day we took one day excursion around northern Thailand and the Golden Triangle. Depart from Chiang Mai drive through the picturesque mountain area with a stop at the a row of agricultural stalls selling fruits & vegetables and then we stop by at the hot spring.

the spring water is actually quite hot (80°C)We then continue the trip further north to Maesai the bustling border town and buffet lunch is served at local restaurant called Opium Hall before we continue to the Golden Triangle area, where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. We were expecting to see poppy fields, heroin factories or drug addicts or traffickers here but only a small piece of island with wild grass is what we got to see at the end...cheh!

Blueyebabe @ Golden TriangleOur next stop was truly a sight to behold, the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), an intricate temple complex that portrays the journey of the spirit from the land of the living, through the mouth of hell, and into the glory of heaven.
